Before we crossed the street to go into this show there was a brief break in the traffic, & I turned to my wife and said, "Shall we go?" You knew what was ahead.

If you like the 80s - it could have peaked here. Even Blow Away was tolerable in this set. The 2nd set has got some seriously psychedelic drippings. To me the drums seemed tame compared to the jam out of Dark Star. Not sure I ever saw a tour where they ended on such a strong note even though we all had the TAIDS (Tour Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) by this point. The scene was surreal with heads smoking joints & sipping beers with cops hanging out talking to them. On the way back up 95 from these shows they had 'Narcotics Inspection Station Ahead' signs on the Interstate and then cops at the exits waiting for those who bailed. A chemical tank truck's tire caught on fire in front of us at 70, engulfed in a smoke cloud with the tire finally exploding into the windshield as I stomped it to get by. It seemed totally normal for some weird reason. Part of the show.
